Joe Bullen celebrated leap year, February 29, 2012, by walking down the South Kaibab Trail to have dinner at the Phantom Ranch. Two days later, he’s at the head of the Bright Angel Trail, March 2, no worse for the wear but “awestruck and humbled by the majesty of the Grand Canyon and Colorado River”.
